"STEVENS DANES"

AKC Great Danes (Blues & Blacks) in Muscadine, AL

Stevens Blue “Smoke”

Born: 12-17-05   Passed: 5-2-07

Our beautiful boy, "Smoke" suddenly passed away on May 2, 2007, from congenital heart failure. This was a birth defect that we were completely unaware of since he had never shown any symptoms of having anything wrong with him at all.

Smoke was the first male Dane that we had. We brought him home from Natrona Heights, PA when he was 8 weeks old. He has been a joy to us since the day that we got him. He was always a clown and doing something funny. He never did anything to hurt anybody (other than step on a few toes). He was a complete sweetheart and everyone who ever met him loved him! He gave us some wonderful memories in the short time that we got to spend with him! He passed away at only 16 ˝ months old. I know that he is waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge but that still doesn’t stop me from missing this sweet baby! We have his body buried in our back yard so that he will always be close to us. Rest in peace my beautiful boy! We will always love you and we will NEVER forget you and all of the good times that we shared with you!

We Love You! You Will Be Forever In Our Hearts!,

Mommy, Daddy, Hunter, Taylor, Lady, Diamond, Delany, Sapphire, Topaz, Pearl, Gizmo, Booker, Buster, Tiger, Prissy, & all of your babies that you have met and the others that will never get to meet their wonderful Daddy!

***The breeder that we got him from claimed to be a wonderful person who cared so much about her dogs the entire time we were talking to her before picking him up. Once we left with him, I think I heard from her once! I sent her numerous pictures of him to put on her website (that never made it on there), several emails updating her on his progress and still never heard from her. The morning after he died, I contacted her to let her know about it and I didn't hear back from her for 3 weeks! When I did, she claimed that she had never had any problems like that before with any of her puppies and was definitely going to do something about it. She said that she was going to talk to her vet (after I had already faxed her a copy of his necropsy results along with ALL of his vet records from the time we brought him home) and that she would get back to me in a couple of days. That was on May 22, 2007 and as of January 18, 2008.....I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD FROM HER!!!! Please watch out for "breeders" like this in your search! If they do not offerat least a 2 year health guarantee, STAY AWAY!!! I only had a 1 year health guarantee on him and then I later learned that she gave a puppy from the same litter a 2 year health guarantee! Personally, ALL of my health guarantees are the same no matter which puppy it is or who adopts it! I guess you just have to live & learn sometimes and I have definitely learned that there are some breeders who do this for money alone and as far as I'm concerned...she definitely fits into this category!

***The "breeder" that we got him from has read this posting on my website and now claims that she is going to sue me for slander! Here is the definition of slander..."Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community." I don't know about her, but I have PROOF of everything that I have stated and every bit of it is 100% TRUE! I have EVERY email that she has EVER sent to me as well as ALL of Smoke's vet records from the day that we brought him home (along with his necropsy report that plainly states that he was BORN with this condition)! Anyway, her name is listed NOWHERE on here, so how do you call that "slander"????

Comments:

If you have ever met Smoke and would like to share anything about him or even if you didn't and would like to leave any comments, here is a place that you can do so. He will be missed greatly by ALL of us!

The Rainbow Bridge:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

How Can I Say "Good-bye?'

To never see those beautiful eyes, that sparkled when I came near.
To never hold you in my arms, and your heartbeat, I could hear.
To never run and play with you, and share the things, we shared.
The times when I was all alone, and no one seemed to care.
To say how much I love you, I cannot begin to start.
But I know you understood, because you knew my heart.

Now, my beloved friend, you've gone away,
and my tears, they fall like the rain,
But oh, the wonderful memories, I'll remember through my pain.
I will miss you every day, and I'll feel you, if I try,
And I know in Heaven, someday, I'll see you again,
So how can I say, "Good-bye?"
